The Mindanao Railway Project Tagum–Davao–Digos (TDD) Segment is a proposed 100.2-kilometer railway corridor extending from Davao del Norte to Davao del Sur along southeastern Mindanao. The alignment traverses Tagum City, the Municipality of Carmen, Panabo City, Davao City, the Municipality of Santa Cruz, and Digos City. The project underwent a comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) addressing four major environmental components: land, water, air, and people. The land component covered land use and classification, geology and geomorphology, geohazard assessment, pedology, and terrestrial ecology. The water component included hydrology, water quality, and freshwater ecology, while the air component addressed climate and meteorology, ambient air quality, and environmental noise. The people component included secondary data gathering, scoping and public participation, traffic impact assessment, and environmental risk assessment. These multidisciplinary assessments provided essential environmental baseline information and technical inputs for evaluating the potential environmental and social impacts of the proposed railway development.
